Ireland were crushed 43-0 in their opening game of the Women's World Cup in Edmonton, Canada.
Sarahjane Belton said that Ireland faced a good French side
Down 17-0 at the break, the Irish women finally leaked seven tries against the classy French who are third seeds.
"We fought right to the end. That's kind of a characteristic of our team," said Irish skipper Sarahjane Belton.
"We'll always fight to the bitter end, especially in this competition. Every point counts but unfortunately, we came up against a very good French side."
