England U19s start with defeat
England's David Tait in action against Ireland
David Tait fails to find a way through Ireland's defence
Keith Earls' try sealed a fine comeback by Ireland U19s as they recovered from trailing 13-3 down to beat England 17-16 at the U19 World Championship.

England dominated the first half but when both Matthew Mullan and David Doherty were sin-binned, Ireland took advantage to claim an impressive win.

Elsewhere, New Zealand beat Wales 38-14 and Australia thumped Scotland 78-3.

Defending champions South Africa had a miserable day, outscored six tries to nil as they crashed 42-3 to France.

In other matches at the tournament in Dubai, Japan came back from 17-11 down to beat Romania 30-17, and Argentina needed an injury-time drop goal by beat Samoa 10-8.
