The Bay of Plenty win a penalty in front of the posts as Martyn Williams plays the ball before getting up. Murray Williams slots the three points.

0913: The Lions weather some threatening probing and Ronan O'Gara clears upfield, winning a good touch on the right. But when the ball is fed to the left wing the final pass to Tom Shanklin is wayward.

0838: Brian O'Driscoll and Josh Lewsey combine well in midfield as the Lions break into the Bay of Plenty half for the first time in a while. The Bay turn it over and run back but Lewsey eventually pumps a kick into the corner to take the sting out of the home side's renaissance.

0836: The Bay of Plenty break from their scrum on the left but a call of crossing gives the Lions chance to clear their lines.

0834: Lawrence Dallaglio goes down in midfield and is stretchered off, seemingly with an ankle problem. Martin Corry comes on as a replacement.

0829: The Lions runners are in front of the kicker at the re-start and the Bay surge forward again with renewed belief. An indiscretion from Ben Kay offers the Steamers a penalty which they kick into touch on the left.

0826: TRY Bay of Plenty 7-17 Bay of Plenty attack down the left wing but Mark Cueto clears up. He's bundled into touch but hangs onto the ball and there's a bit of a fracas. 0821: TRY Bay of Plenty 0-17 Lions
A rare error from Brian O'Driscoll in midfield hands Bay of Plenty a scrum in centre-field but the Lions turn it over. The pack powers forward and Ronan O'Gara hoists a cross-field kick for Mark Cueto to catch and flop over for the third try. O'Gara converts.
