Jordan cool over 'Celtic Tigers'
The Celtic nations could combine to play touring sides
The Celtic nations could combine to play touring sides
There is little chance of a joint Wales, Ireland and Scotland Test side in the near future, says Celtic League tournament director David Jordan.

The issue was raised at a meeting of the league sides in Dublin on Thursday.

Jordan had been quoted as saying that it was something that the Celtic nations would be keen to develop.

But after the meeting he told BBC Scotland that talk of a "Celtic Tigers" team was purely speculative for the time being.

However, there is no prospect even in the medium term of a touring side.

"If Celtic Rugby can develop as a brand then the possibilities are endless," Jordan told Thursday's Herald.

"For example, you just have to look at the number of Lions jerseys that have been, and will be, sold this year."
