Marks out of 10 for England's players against Australia at Twickenham.
Josh Lewsey - 7: A couple of early missed tackles but had some good attacking moments as the game wore on.
Mark Cueto - 8: Gave the back-line a cutting edge, scored a try and now looks a firm fixture in the team.
Jamie Noon - 6: Made some good carries but lacked guile in attack and missed a tackle for Australia's try.
Mike Tindall - 6: Some big hits and driving runs but missed a couple of tackles and lacked awareness in attack.
Ben Cohen - 7: Saw little of the ball on his return to the international stage but scored a try with his one chance.
Charlie Hodgson - 8: A good kicking display from the Sale man, set up Cohen's try and was also staunch in defence.
Matt Dawson - 6: Made some poor decisions in good attacking positions and his often slow ball was erratic.
Andrew Sheridan - 8: Murdered Aussie tight-head Al Baxter in the scrum and pitched in with some bullocking carries.
Steve Thompson - 8: Consistently found his jumpers in the line-out and helped demolish the opposition scrum.
Phil Vickery - 7: Had the Australian front-row on toast and looked at home on his return to the England side.
Steve Borthwick - 7: Solid in the line-out, played his part in smashing the Aussie pack and produced some good drives.
Danny Grewcock - 7: Won clean line-out ball all afternoon - another solid display from the Bath second-row.
Pat Sanderson - 7: Some big hits from the Worcester man but sometimes outfoxed by George Smith in the loose.
Lewis Moody - 7: Was sin-binned but otherwise a typically buzzy display, including one try-saving tackle.
Martin Corry - 6: Not one of the captain's best displays but will be happy with England's workmanlike performance.
Substitutes
Mark van Gisbergen (blood replacement Cueto, 2 mins) - 6: A fleeting appearance for his first cap and took one good take from a high kick.
Olly Barkley (replaced Hodgson, 55 mins) - 7: Settled his nerves with a penalty from halfway and followed with a fine conversion from the touch-line.
