Williams says Scots were 'robbed'
Matt Williams
Scotland coach Matt Williams says his side were "robbed blind" after France hit back late on to win 16-9 in Paris.

Williams was upset several decisions went against his team, particularly the sin-binning of Jon Petrie and Allister Hogg's disallowed try.

"That game was won by Scotland and it was terrible, terrible decisions that cost us," fumed the Australian.

Williams said he was proud of the way his players performed, adding: "They didn't deserve to be robbed blind."

The Scots led 9-0 before France clinched victory with Damien Traille's late try.

But when Traille scored, Scotland were down to 14 men after Petrie had been sin-binned.

Hogg's try had also been disallowed after the touch judge ruled one of the forward's feet had gone out of play.

I am outraged at the fact we lost that game and I'm outraged at the decisions which were made

"Jon Petrie was sin-binned but was nowhere near the ball," insisted Williams.

"Ally Hogg was called out and he wasn't out.

"Chris Cusiter was under the posts in the first half and brought back for a tight-head bind when the ball was clearly out of the scrum.

"I am outraged at the fact we lost that game and I'm outraged at the decisions which were made."

Nevertheless, he was quick to pay tribute to the way his team had performed against last year's Six Nations champions.

"I hope back in the houses and homes and the villages of Scotland - and in the pubs - people are standing up and saying they are proud of the players," he said.
