Former Wales lock dies
Former Wales second row Gareth Payne has died at the age of 68, passing away suddenly whilst on a family holiday in the Lake District.

The forward from Trelewis won three caps against England, Ireland and Scotland in 1960.

A product of Pontypridd Grammar School, Payne played for the town's club side, the army, Newport, London Welsh, Stroud and the Barbarians.

He is survived by his wife and two children, who live in Cuddington.
