D'Arcy: 'Worth the wait'
Ireland's Man-of-the-match Gordon D'Arcy
Gordon D'Arcy was Ireland's two-try hero at Lansdowne Road
Gordon D'Arcy said that he has been waiting for Triple Crown glory for six years.

Ireland's two-try hero was revelling in his side's 37-16 victory over Scotland at Lansdowne Road and is getting ready for a mighty party.

It was Ireland's first Triple Crown since 1985 and D'Arcy said that the wait was worthwhile.

''I think the whole country is going to go nuts tonight,'' said D'Arcy. ''But we had to work hard for the victory.''

D'Arcy, the RBS Man-of-Match, won his first cap for Ireland back in the 1999 World Cup before drifting out of the limelight. But now he said that it was a wonderful opportunity just to represent Ireland.

''I've dreamed about this for a long time. I have waited six years; some players have waited even longer.

''We might have scored five tries, but it was far from easy, We knew Scotland would make us work extremely hard and that they would fight every step of the way.

''What a game they played. They really put it up to us.

''But it's quite an honour, not for the players, but also for the whole country. It wil be mad on Saturday night.''
