Clockwatch: England 13-19 Ireland
All the action as Ireland stun England at Twickenham.

80 mins: Stringer punts the ball upfield but it goes straight out and England have a final chance with a Regan throw. England just win possession, but it comes too late and Ireland seal a famous win.

79 mins: Nearly a breathtaking late try to Greenwood or Lewsey. Grayson produces a delightful chip but it goes over the dead ball line before either runner can touch it down.

78 mins: England are just moments away now from their first tournament defeat at Twickenham since 1997. But they win a penalty and Grayson kicks to set up an attacking line-out.

76 mins: England are throwing everything at the Irish. For now the visitors' defence just about holds firm, thanks mainly to a Will Greenwood knock forward.

74 mins: Lewsey sets up an exciting finale with a deep kick to put the Irish line-out under pressure. For once England win it only for Grayson to knock it on.

72 mins: The mistakes are creeping in as the clock ticks on. The latest mistake comes when Woodman knocks it on and Ireland win a timely put in near their 22.

69 mins: O'Driscoll goes for a drop goal but it hardly even makes its way off the ground.

68 mins: A farcical re-start. Dawson drops the kick-off and then Robinson slices his clearance kick.

67 mins: Ireland produce a rare infringement, gifting Grayson an easy penalty for offside. The Northampton number 10 makes no mistake.

66 mins: England are now dominating possession but to no avail as they struggle to force their way past the gain line. Ireland concede a scrum as they knock it on amidst the pressure.

64 mins: The recent flurry of replacements have added some bite to England but it all goes wrong again as Jones knocks it on. England are then penalised for not binding properly at the next scrum. Meanwhile, Grayson is back on the field.

62 mins: Lawrence Dallaglio peels off the front of the line-out and sends Regan into the corner, but the replacement hooker is bundled into touch.

61 mins: Tyrone Howe skids the ball into touch as England's backs charge down on him. For the first time in an age the crowd are lifted. James Simpson-Daniel comes on for Balshaw, while Kevin Maggs takes Dempsey's spot.

58 mins: England have a 45% success record on their own throw today. They lose another as Thompson's latest throw sails over all and sundry. He is then replaced by Mark Regan.

56 mins: England's backs breathe a sigh of relief as their forwards finally win a line-out.

54 mins: Chris Jones replaces Joe Worsley, while Olly Barkley is a blood replacement for Grayson.

51 mins: D'Arcy single-handedly makes a mockery of England's defence with his searing pace. As Ireland recycle the ball, it is pinged down the backs before Girvan Dempsey grasps it and slides into the corner. O'Gara converts.

50 mins: Woodward comes out of the stands to vent his frustration at his players. And with good reason - hardly a performance worthy of world champions.

47 mins: Ireland pile the pressure on England as they launch wave after wave of attacks. They win a scrum for their efforts but the English do well not to leak any points. O'Driscoll, though, produces arguably the worst pass of the Six Nations to end their brief dominance.

44 mins: Thompson and England's jumpers continue their poor form of the first half by messing up yet another line-out. O'Gara hoofs the ball upfield.

41 mins: England win the ball from their own re-start. From it Grayson makes a stunning break after a chip-and-charge. The ball is spread wide and lands in the clutches of Ben Cohen. But Cohen makes a double movement with the ball over the line and the try is disallowed.

40 mins: Ireland get the last chance of the half after Ben Kay plays the ball illegally. The Irish take a deserved half-time lead.
England 10-12 Ireland

37 mins: O'Driscoll launches a dangerous diagonal run. Grayson, enjoying a great half, is the man to halt the danger.

36 mins: Despite leading, England are still struggling out there in the line-outs.

33 mins: Woodman handles the ball illegally, concedes a penalty and is threatened with a sin-binning. O'Gara makes the most of it.
England 10-9 Ireland

32 mins: Reggie Corrigan is penalised for collapsing the scrum. Grayson slots over an easy penalty.
England 10-6 Ireland

30 mins: In an instant it all seems to have gone wrong for Ireland. A rubbish Stringer pass to O'Gara allows England to dive on the Irish fly-half and subsequently win a scrum. A mini scuffle then breaks out just short of Ireland's line.

27 mins: Matt Dawson scores the game's first try, very much against the run of play. The England number nine makes amends for a howler pass moments earlier. Paul Grayson puts him through after Ireland's scrum buckles. Grayson adds the conversion.
England 7-6 Ireland

24 mins: Richard Hill is judged offside - the decision bringing jeers from the Twickenham crowd. But O'Gara is unfazed for kick number two.
England 0-6 Ireland

22 mins: Jason Robinson, with virtually his first touch of the day, looks to be on his way to the try line but Peter Stringer brings him down with a tap tackle.

21 mins: Gordon D'Arcy darts and dances his way past England's backs. It takes three of them to finally stop the Leinster star.

20 mins: England lose line-out number four and then Iain Balshaw makes matters worse by hoisting the ball straight into touch from open play. Clive Woodward must surely be shaking his head in the stands.

18 mins: England aren't used to being under pressure at Twickenham, having not lost at home since 1999. Lawrence Dallaglio hands out a brief pep talk to settle his players.

16 mins: O'Gara kicks deep into England's territory for a lineout and his line-out jumpers promptly win it against the throw. Trevor Woodman collapses the resulting maul and O'Gara opts for the spot kick. Over it sails.
England 0-3 Ireland

13 mins: Some monstrous hits in the tackle are causing errors from both sides. The Irish are just about edging the contest for now.

11 mins: A dire passage of yo-yo kicking finally ends with England on the attack. But the ball goes forward and the Twickenham crowd is quickly silenced.

9 mins: England are struggling to get out of their own half. The referee helps them by awarding them a scrum for accidental offside. A penalty then ensues and Grayson smacks it clear.

7 mins: John Hayes steals England's lineout ball deep in the world champions' territory. The attacking move comes to an end after an unsuccessful O'Gara grubber kick.

4 mins: O'Gara fluffs some early points with his penalty after Cohen's earlier indiscretion. A lucky escape for England.

3 mins: Ireland win a scrum under England's posts after a Phil Vickery knock-on. Referee Paul Honiss takes time to have a word with both front rows after some early bickering. As the ball breaks O'Driscoll chips ahead but Ben Cohen shoulder charges him. Penalty.

2 mins: Paul O'Connell steals some early lineout ball. Brian O'Driscoll opts not to run and kicks to perfection into touch on England's try line.

1603 GMT: Ronan O'Gara gets the game going as he hoofs it to the hands of Paul Grayson.
