Clockwatch: England 53-3 South Africa
All the action from Twickenham as England overwhelm South Africa.

Second half:

80 mins (+3): Dallaglio takes the English past the half-century mark as he brings in the ball from the back of the scrum. Stimpson is successful with his kick and the final whistle goes. England 53-3 South Africa

80 mins (+3): England force South Africa over the line and are awarded a five-metre scrum - surely their last chance for a try.

80 mins (+1): England hold it in their forwards and start heading for the Springbok try line with 30 metres still to go. Healey ruins it with a misjudged up and under.

79 mins: England are targeting the 50-point mark and launch another attack. But a Healey knock on causes it to end.

78 mins: South Africa are pushing to the final whistle in a bid to restore some pride.

76 mins: Hill latches on to a Healey chip and manages to ground the ball before it goes into touch. Stimpson has a go at the kick and also succeeds. England 46-3 South Africa

74 mins: South Africa once again find themselves close to their line defending another lineout.

72 mins: Tim Stimpson is on for Robinson and makes a mistake with his first move. Danny Grewcock is brought on for Ben Kay.

70 mins: Neil Back scores a try for the forwards. After sustained pressure from the pack, Back slips in unawares covered by Hill and Dallaglio. Gomarsall produces a great conversion. England 39-3 South Africa

68 mins: England look totally unfussed by every South African attack such is their stranglehold over the game. They have a lineout five metres off their opponents' line.

66 mins: Two tackles from Richard Hill end a two-minute spell of Springbok attacking and England are back on the offensive.

64 mins: Referee Paddy O'Brien awards South Africa a penalty which gives them time to regroup.

61 mins: England are awarded a penalty try after Phil Christophers is illegally dragged to the ground with a tackle round the neck by Greeff. England have Vickery to thank, though, after a surprise break. England 32-3 South Africa

60 mins: Neil Back and Phil Vickery both miss good scoring opportunities in the space of a minute as they fail to lay off the deciding ball. It only looks a matter of time before they score again.

58 mins: The players are dropping like flies at Twickenham. Andy Gomarsall deputises for Dawson, whose had a great game.

57 mins: England slowly but steadily head for the Springbok line. Healey fires up a diagonal boot towards Cohen. But the Saints winger cannot bring the ball down over for his second try.

55 mins: Adrian Jacobs replaces Pretorius and Dalton comes off. Lukas van Biljon comes on instead.

54 mins: Dallaglio, Vickery and Dawson are all on the ground now, suffering from separate knocks. None of the injuries are serious enough to see them replaced.

52 mins: Healey shows great vision to slice through the Springbok defence. Greenwood then has a go with a dangerous kick ahead. Pedrie Wannenburg touches down for a drop out.

51 mins: The tackles are beginning to take their toll. Dawson is the latest player receiving treatment but he looks fit enough to play on. England earn themselves a penalty which Healey kicks for a lineout in the interim.

49 mins: Brent Russell is on for Breyton Paulse in a bid to add extra zip to the Springbok back line.

48 mins: Healey already looks to be relishing his role as playmaker. A cross-field kick turns the momentum back to the English.

47 mins: A brief period of pressure for the home side ends up with Healey booting out of danger.

44 mins: Wilkinson has come off the field injured. Austin Healey jogs on to take over at fly-half.

41 mins: Wilkinson restarts for England.

First half:

40 mins (+4) South Africa steal possession from the English as a blind side move fails to take flight. And the whistle goes for half-time.

40 mins (+2): Pretorius goes deep with the restart but a massive punt from Wilkinson sends the ball to halfway.

40 mins: A James high tackle on Dawson gives England a penalty. Wilkinson is on target once more. England 18-3 South Africa

36 mins: Robinson is clearly the Springboks' leading tackling target as AJ Venter blasts him to the ground. A penalty to South Africa results, which Pretorius just nudges over. England 15-3 South Africa

34 mins: England are producing some divine flowing rugby. But it all halts briefly with a gifted penalty to their opponents.

31 mins: Will Greenwood adds his name to the scoring sheet. Dallaglio peels the ball off the back of the scrum and, as the ball is stretched out wide, Wilkinson reverses it to Greenwood who cuts open the Springbok defence. Wilkinson converts in front of the uprights. England 15-0 South Africa

30 mins: England continue the pressure on their rivals and it leads to a English penalty. They opt for the scrum instead.

26 mins: Wilkinson sends up a huge up and under and England's form man, Cohen, collects and touches it down over the line amidst a flurry of Springbok defenders. After consulting with the referee no try is given - a scrum to South Africa for a Cohen knock on.

23 mins: Jannes Labuschagne has been sensationally sent off after an atrocious late tackle on Wilkinson.

21 mins: Ben Cohen scores an excellent try for England. Dawson makes it happen with a sniping break, lays off the ball to Lawrence Dallaglio and, although Cohen is tackled by Fleck, he has enough momentum to score. Wilkinson misses the conversion. England 8-0 South Africa

15 mins: Greeff puts the English lineout under pressure with a deep kick. Flanker Lewis Moody limps off grimacing and holding his ribs. His place is taken by Lawrence Dallaglio.

11 mins: Scrum-half Bolla Conradie comes off the field and is replaced by Test debutant Norman Jordaan.

4 mins: A scuffle breaks out between Matt Dawson and James Dalton and the referee has a word with them both.
