Noriega out of Wallabies squad
Noriega has been replaced by Queensland's Nick Stiles
Prop Patricio Noriega has been ruled out of Australia's team to face South Africa in the final Tri-Nations tie.
Team doctor Martin Raftery said Noriega has a middle ear infection and cannot travel. He has been replaced by Queensland Reds prop Nick Stiles. Australian selectors have added former rugby league star Wendell Sailor to the squad for the match in Johannesburg. Sailor was part of the Wallaby side that recorded a 2-0 series victory over France, but was dropped for the world champions' opening Tri-Nations match against New Zealand. The winger made a promising start to his international union career, but also showed signs of defensive frailty during the second match against France.
The former Brisbane Broncos star came under fire from former Australia wing star David Campese, after being fast-tracked into the international team following his high-profile switch from league. But he is highly-rated by coach Eddie Jones, who has brought him back into the fold for the game at Ellis Park on 17 August. Rod Moore, Daniel Vickerman and David Croft have also been added to the 22-man squad that defeated the All Blacks in Sydney in their last match.
New Zealand, who play South Africa in Durban on Saturday, and Australia are level in the Tri-Nations standings with 10 points each.
Australian squad: Matt Burke, Brendan Cannon, Matt Cockbain, David Croft, Ben Darwin, Owen Finegan, Elton Flatley, George Gregan (captain), Justin Harrison, Daniel Herbert, Toutai Kefu, Stephen Larkham, Chris Latham, David Lyons, Rod Moore, Stirling Mortlock, Nick Stiles, Jeremy Paul, Mat Rogers, Wendell Sailor, Nathan Sharpe, George Smith, Ben Tune, Daniel Vickerman, Chris Whitaker, Bill Young.
