Full-time: Australia seal it at the death to retain the Bledisloe Cup and keep the Tri-Nations alive.

79 mins: Australia win a line out on the left inside New Zealand's 22. Australia try to go through midfield but referee Andre Watson signals an Australian penalty for hands in the ruck and Matt Burke steps up to claim the glory.
Australia 16-14 New Zealand

79 mins: Australia have a scrum in New Zealand's half. George Gregan drives the gold waves left and right but they encounter a black wall each time.

75 mins: Australia are finishing strongly and Mat Rogers scampers down the right before the ball is swept back to the left. But a desperate New Zealand hang on.

72 mins: Australia have certainly switched up a gear and come again, with Mat Rogers threading his way over at the end of over 15 phases. Matt Burke hits the post on the conversion.
Australia 13-14 New Zealand

68 mins: Australia muster some phases of go-forward rugby and hammer the New Zealand line, eventually winning a penalty.

George Gregan opts for the scrum and as the ball is swept left, Mat Rogers hits the line only to knock on. Justin Marshall thumps an enormous clearance downfield.

65 mins: New Zealand power through the middle with strong running by Doug Howlett and Tana Umaga. But Australia are awarded a scrum to ease the pressure.

63 mins: Australia's Matt Cockbain comes on for Nathan Sharpe and Ben Darwin replaces Patricio Noriega.

61 mins: Aaron Mauger pumps it behind Australia and Stirling Mortlock is foiled by the bounce. Australia win a scrum and try to run it out but they infringe and Andrew Mehrtens makes no mistake.

60 mins: Stephen Larkham is back on and Mat Rogers also makes an appearance for Australia.

59 mins: Australia's discipline is draining away fast as Andrew Mehrtens is given another chance at goal.

Proceedings are delayed by a couple of streakers which must have put off the kicker as he misses.

58 mins: Wallaby loose-forward Owen Finegan is replaced by David Lyons.

58 mins: Flanker Richie McCaw is back on for the All Blacks.

57 mins: New Zealand's game plan is quite definitely to pepper the Australian back three with high balls.

56 mins: Wallaby fly-half Stephen Larkham goes off with a blood injury for Elton Flatley.

55 mins: Aaron Mauger scuffs a drop-goal attempt from outside the 22.

52 mins: New Zealand are very much on the up and nearly score again as Andrew Mehrtens lofts another high ball into the corner. But Doug Howlett just fails to hang on to it in the in-goal area.

51 mins: New Zealand openside Richard McCaw is blood binned as Marty Holah comes on.

50 mins: Kiwi Aaron Mauger chips over the top into space for Doug Howlett but he is penalised for not releasing.

47 mins: Australia squander a great platform yards out and Justin Marshall again goes quickly and sparks the counter.

Christian Cullen kicks downfield and Chris Latham lets it go out. But the Wallaby throw to the back is missed by everone barring All Black Richard McCaw who pounces on it and crashes over. Andrew Mehrtens misses the conversion.

45 mins: Australia gift New Zealand a way back in and hand Andrew Mehrtens a penalty from the 22 which he slots.
Australia 8-6 New Zealand

44 mins: New Zealand's basics are letting them down - wayward passes, poor handling and bad decision making.

43 mins: The Kiwis launch a promising attack through the backs but the chance fizzles out.

42 mins: George Gregan has reappeared with a head bandage and drives several phases of Wallaby possession forward.

41 mins: Andrew Mehrtens kicks off the second half for New Zealand.

Half-time: Despite only a five-point deficit, New Zealand have been on the back foot for most of the first period.

Australia seem more cohesive as a team, while the Blacks have struggled to build any momentum.

38 min: Justin Marshall takes another quick penalty and New Zealand attempt to build some momentum upfield.

37 min: New Zealand win a penalty in the middle and Andrew Mehrtens strokes it over.
Australia 8-3 New Zealand

35 min: New Zealand's scrum-half Justin Marshall takes a quick tap penalty and races away but Scott Robertson spills the ball and Australia counter.

Play is allowed to continue but is eventually brought back after Ben Tune was tackled high. Matt Burke slots the penalty from the 22.
Australia 8-0 New Zealand

32 min: Wallaby winger Ben Tune sets up a powerful attack and only last-gasp defending from Christian Cullen keeps them out.

Australia win a line out on the line and Jeremy Paul crashes over but Patricio Noriega is adjudged to have been obstructing on the edge of the ruck and it is disallowed.

29 min: New Zealand are stuck on their own goal line but eventually break free and surge upfield. But Andrew Mehrtens' kick is aimless and Chris Latham pumps it back into their half.

28 min: New Zealand's Aaron Mauger takes out George Gregan without the ball but Australia opt to go for a line-out rather than the posts.

27 min: Tom Willis is given a talking to for stepping in-field as he throws in.

25 min: New Zealand hooker Tom Willis finds a gap through Australia and makes good yardage but Chris Latham eventually clears up.

24 min: New Zealand are knocking at the door but lose the ball in a ruck and Australia escape.

23 min: Kiwi Scott Robertson floors Toutai Kefu and Christian Cullen bursts forward from full-back, feeding Caleb Ralph, who is brought down metres short of the line.

21 min: Australia win another attacking line-out on the right but New Zealand steal the ball and Andrew Mehrtens clears.

19 min: After their early dominance New Zealand look in disarray. But they are let off the hook as Daniel Herbert gives away a penalty.

17 min: Australia hammer at the door and after some weak Kiwi tackling Nathan Sharpe crashes over. Matt Burke misses the conversion.

15 min: Christian Cullen slices a clearance kick out in his own 22 giving Australia a good attacking line-out.

13 min: The first scrum goes to Australia in their opponents' half.

11 min: New Zealand come again and Australia are forced to defend desperately. But the Blacks commit the cardinal sin and give away a penalty to ease the pressure.

10 min: The Kiwi backs combine well in a surge down into the left corner but Australia's defence is again strong.

7 min: The All Blacks revert to type and trundle through the pack before Justin Marshall tries a drop goal.

But Australia infringe and Andrew Mehrtens gets a second chance at goal which he also misses.

6 min: New Zealand's backs get their first sniff of the ball but Australian defence holds firm.

4 min: New Zealand win a line-out on the half-way line and build their first attack.

Wallaby prop Patricio Noriega gives away a penalty. Up steps Andrew Mehrtens but he pushes his kick right of the posts.

2 min: Australia drive forward and win an early penalty, Richard McCaw infringing in the ruck. But Matt Burke drags it badly left in the blustery wind.

1005 BST Matt Burke kicks off for Australia.

1004 BST Caleb Ralph leads the All Blacks in their Haka.

1000 BST The two teams line up for the anthems on a fresh evening at Stadium Australia.
