Chris White will become the first referee to take charge of three Heineken Cup finals when Biarritz meet Munster in Cardiff on 20 May.
White has refereed 36 Heineken Cup games and 35 internationals
The 42-year-old former junior school teacher from Cheltenham also controlled last year's final, when Toulouse beat Stade Francais at Murrayfield.
He also refereed the previous all-French final between Toulouse and Perpignan in Dublin in 2003.
Fellow Englishmen Dave Pearson and Tony Spreadbury will be his touch judges.
