Wasps salvaged some Heineken Cup pride with a seven-try demolition of Edinburgh to finish second in pool six.
HEINEKEN CUP POOL SIX
Wasps: (20) 53
Tries: King, Mackenzie, Van Gisbergen, Shaw, Voyce (2), penalty
Cons: Van Gisbergen (3), King (3)
Pens: Van Gisbergen (2)
Edinburgh: (10) 17
Tries: Southwell, Dewey, Lawson
The English champions, already out of the tournament, led 20-10 at the break and sped away in the second half.
For Wasps, Tom Voyce scored a brace and there were tries for Alex King, Alistair Mackenzie, Mark van Gisbergen, Simon Shaw, plus a penalty try.
Edinburgh scored tries through Hugo Southwell, Rob Dewey and Rory Lawson but the 2004 winners were too strong.
Wasps were missing England players Josh Lewsey, Lawrence Dallaglio, Stuart Abbott and Joe Worsley.
Lewsey, club skipper Dallaglio and Abbott were all rested, while flanker Worsley withdrew at short notice because of a calf strain, an absence he described as "just a precaution".
Wasps' defeat in Toulouse last week meant they could not qualify as one of the best runners-up, after earlier away losses to Edinburgh and Llanelli Scarlets.
The Gunners finished the competition in last place in pool six on 11 points, one adrift of the Scarlets and three short of Wasps.
Toulouse won the group on 25 points, 11 clear of the Londoners.
Wasps boss Ian McGeechan:
"It was satisfying because it was the result of having a very hard look at ourselves. We were determined not to make the same mistakes again.
"After losing to Edinburgh and Llanelli, we put our hands up and said these two defeats were our worst performances.
"There were things we wanted to change and things the players wanted to put right."
