Bath fly-half Olly Barkley scored 22 points as his side powered to an emphatic home victory over Treviso.

Tries from Andrew Higgins, Rob Fidler, Andy Beattie, Michael Lipman and Duncan Bell ensured there would be no repeat of last week's shock Treviso win.

Barkley's faultless display of goalkicking put Bath well in control.

Treviso, who had two players sin-binned, could only manage a penalty try in response, while centre Marius Goosen had an off day with his goalkicking.

Bath were unable to name seven replacements after enduring a miserable run of injuries, but they played with far greater composure than their display in Italy last week.

It is a big issue when you end up with only 20 players fit enough to take the field
Bath coach John Connolly
Barkley put Bath ahead on four minutes with a penalty, but Goosen's first two kicks at goal both ended up well wide of the posts.

As Bath began to dominate the forward exchanges, Higgins scored the opening try after latching onto Chris Malone's pass and going in under the posts.

Barkley's unerring boot swiftly put Bath into a 16-0 lead as Treviso continued to concede penalties.

Beattie was driven over by a rampant Bath pack, before Treviso stopped the rot with a penalty try just before half-time after briefly gaining the upper hand at the scrum.

But it was one-way traffic after the break as Fidler's 47th-minute try extended Bath's lead.

Another score from Lipman soon followed, again from a forward drive, and a late score from Bell gave Barkley the chance to make it nine kicks out of nine.
