Simpson-Daniel scored two tries in the last three minutes
James Simpson-Daniel scored a hat-trick as Gloucester moved into sixth spot after an emphatic win over Harlequins.
Gloucester's Lesley Vainikolo opened the scoring with a powerful drive, followed by a try from Tom Molenaar after Nicky Robinson's clever chip .
Quins' resistance gave way after the second-half re-start, with Simpson-Daniel crossing the line after a free-flowing Gloucester move.
Scores from Tom Voyce, and two more from Simpson-Daniel sealed the victory.
Voyce crossed the line following an attempted clearance from Quins' wing David Strettle, which was charged down by Gloucester captain Gareth Delve. The loose ball fell clear to the Gloucester wing, who burst over the line to secure the bonus point.
Some lax defending from Quins then helped Simpson-Daniel to score twice within the last three minutes of the game, to ensure the home side finished with an impressive 40-point advantage.
The result moves Gloucester up the table to sixth spot, while Quins remain on 24 points in eight place.
Gloucester Head Coach Bryan Redpath told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"We finished off every opportunity, from 1 to 23 it was a great effort from all of the players."
"We got better as the game went on, and not letting in a try built our confidence"
"We knew that it was key to get our set pieces right because we have a team structure and individuals that are dangerous when allowed to play."
