Soaring profits for English rugby
The red rose of England
The RFU will invest the money in English rugby's future
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has announced revenues of over 100m for the first time.

The figure of 103.7m for the last financial year was up 25% on 2006, while operating profits rocketed by 73% to 28.1m.

The RFU said it would continue to invest the profits in growing the game in England.

Chief executive Francis Baron said the results have given the RFU a "very solid foundation".

The RFU's coffers will receive a further boost thanks to England's unexpected progress to the final of the World Cup in France last month.
