Gloucester ran in eight tries to claim an emphatic West country derby victory over Bristol in the EDF Energy Cup and earn a bonus point.
Both sides exchanged early penalties through Ludovic Mercier and Danny Gray.
But once Mark Foster went over for a try after 28 minutes, the Cherry and Whites were in control.
John Goodridge went over twice while there were also tries for Peter Richards, Ryan Lamb, James Bailey, James Forrester and Rory Lawson.
Mercier added seven conversions as Gloucester bounced back from last weekend's heavy defeat to the Ospreys in the same competition.
Tries by Mariano Sambucetti and Andy Reay were only consolation for Bristol who fell to their heaviest-ever defeat at Kingsholm.
Gloucester boss Dean Ryan:
"A lot of English Premiership sides have made changes in this competition and where that's been highlighted is when we have come up against Welsh competition away from home.
"They (Welsh sides) treat the competition slightly differently to us.
"I don't think it's devaluing. Any competition with pool stages, you'll make adjustments in the pool stages but not the knockout rounds and so you won't play your best side all the time.
"We weren't seriously derailed by what happened at the Ospreys and today puts us back in the picture with something to play for in the last game."
Bristol coach Martin Haag:
"Playing a derby at Kingsholm is a big ask and the players' attitude was no different for this one.
"They wanted to win and there were some good performances from our young guys.
"They need to taste these experiences and the result was neither here nor there."
