Wasps decide to release wing Mbu

Wasps have released wing Joe Mbu from his contract with immediate effect after just 11 months at the club.

The 24-year-old, who joined from Harlequins in February last year, was granted a release to enable him to secure a contract with another team.

Mbu made a total of five appearances for Wasps, scoring three tries, and was a key member of the club's A team.

"Joe has been a valuable member of the squad in his time at Wasps," said rugby director Ian McGeechan.

"He is a powerful and intelligent player, whose humour and attitude have been much appreciated.

"We wish him all the best in the future and in pursuing his playing interests abroad."
