Oakley signs for Shoguns
Bristol coach Dean Ryan
Bristol coach Dean Ryan has signed up Rhys Oakley
Bristol Shoguns back-rower Rhys Oakley has signed a two-year professional contract with the Zurich Premiership side.

The 21-year-old, who played a key part in the championship-winning Bristol Shoguns U21s team, said: "I'm delighted with the new contract. I want to play in the first team and this is the first step."

Oakley is the second Academy player to be offered a full professional contract this season, after fellow back row forward, Chris Morgan also agreed terms.

Paul Hull, Bristol Shoguns Academy Manager, said: "Rhys is a Bristol lad who has made his way to the top through the successful rugby structure in the city of Bristol.

"We're all delighted for him and it shows that with the right level of commitment and hard work, local players can make it to the highest level."
