Llanelli negotiated a potentially tricky tie against the Division One leaders without too much trouble at Pontypool Park.

International duty forced the Scarlets to field a weakened team, but the difference in class between the two sides was plain to see.

Two tries from hooker Marcus Thomas and one apiece from Tal Selley and David Hodges put the result beyond doubt.

Lenny Woodard and James Rowles crossed for late consolation tries for Pooler, adding to a first-half effort by centre Johnathan Hawker.

Llanelli can now look forward to a home quarter-final match against Neath.
