Visagie misses tour
Cobus Visagie
Cobus Visagie, centre, in action for his country
South Africa and Western Province star Cobus Visagie is out for the rest of the year due to a wrist injury.

And the blow rules him out of his country's squad for their tour to Argentina, Ireland and Britain.

The tight-head prop announced at the beginning of the week he had suffered a dislocated small bone in his wrist during the Western Province game against the Boland Cavaliers on Saturday and will require surgery.

He said: "I am obviously very disappointed. It was always one of my dreams to win the Currie Cup and play in Argentina and Ireland."

Semi-finals

Western Province plays the Golden Lions in one of the semi-finals of the inter-provincial Currie Cup competition next Saturday.

The South African squad is then expected to be announced and will leave 10 days later for their nine-match tour that includes Tests in Argentina, Ireland, Wales and England.
