Dave Attwood's injury-time try salvaged a draw for Gloucester against fellow Premiership strugglers Worcester.

Gloucester had taken the lead through an Akapusi Qera try before Worcester hit back with a Willie Walker penalty.

First-half tries from Rico Gear and scrum-half Jonny Arr appeared to put Worcester on course for their first league away win in eight months.

But lock Attwood ploughed over in the corner to level the score before Carlos Spencer missed the conversion attempt.

A fourth draw in their last five league games leaves Worcester just one place above the relegation zone, while Gloucester move up to eighth.

The Cherry and Whites were gifted the opening try when Arr passed the ball straight to Qera from a scrum and the big Fijian ran 30 yards unopposed for a try.

Gloucester failed to turn their early dominance into further points and were made to pay when Worcester surged back with a Walker penalty and two tries before half-time.

New Zealand wing Gear touched down after good work from the Worcester pack and Arr found a gap off the base of a scrum to dive over in first-half stoppage-time.

A Robinson penalty reduced Gloucester's arrears to five points, but he missed a longer effort eight minutes later when Worcester infringed through a deliberate knock-on.

The second half degenerated into a kicking contest as Worcester looked to grind out a victory.

As the clocked ticked on, Gloucester camped in their opponents' 22 and were finally rewarded when replacement lock Attwood dived over in the corner from the last move of the game.

Spencer missed his conversion from the touchline to ensure both sides remain rooted in the bottom third of the table.

Worcester director of rugby Mike Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"It was heartbreaking to concede a try in the last minute. But, in terms of the league, it is about picking up points as often as you can.

"We are a very hard team to beat, and we have got to keep on doing that - performing to a high level.

"They upped the tempo in the second period, but we were tenacious in defence and it is about the overall performance. We will take the two points."

Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"The opposition didn't have to play too much because we allowed them to get the ball from our mistakes.

"I am chuffed that we created the chances we did, but we didn't finish off and I have to try to create confidence in the decision-making side of things.

"I am disappointed with the draw because I thought we dominated most of the game. We just didn't take our opportunities.

"We were aware it was a big game for everyone. The fans were outstanding. It was great to see so many of them and they stuck by the players which was a big delight for me".
