Combined Services 22-19 Barbarians

Rugby Football Union

The Combined Services gained revenge for last year's defeat by beating the Barbarians in the Remembrance Day match on Wednesday in Aldershot

Flanker Rhys Shellard gave the Baa-Baas the lead early on, but converted tries from Apo Satala and Jack Presad stole the advantage back for the Services.

Centre Greg Barden then touched down to put the game out of the Baa-Baas reach.

The Barbarians crossed the line twice late on through Henry Head and Frankie Neal but failed to make up the deficit.

Launceston full-back Mal Roberts scored seven vital points for the Services, kicking a penalty and two conversions.

Other south west players on show included Plymouth Albion's Danny Porte and Sean-Michael Stephen, who both turned out for the Barbarians and Exeter Chiefs prop Chris Budgen, who represented the Combined Services.
