Jersey form delights coach Harvey

Jersey Rugby Club
Jersey Rugby Club are powering ahead in National League Three

Jersey coach Ben Harvey has hailed his table-topping side's form ahead of Saturday's National Three London & SE visit of fifth-placed Dorking.

After losing their first game of the season, Jersey have since been undefeated in eight matches and are averaging almost 50 points a game.

Harvey told BBC Jersey: "At the moment we are the best performing club in any league in the entire country.

"That is a pretty mean achievement from these players."

Dorking topped the table for the first month of the season and while Jersey now hold the top spot, Harvey is expecting a tough challenge.

"They led the league virtually from the start of the season for four or five weeks, so clearly they had a run of form," said Harvey.

"They've won away from home so they won't be daunted about travelling away.

"They'll be difficult. Without any question they are a top five side and we expect a tough game."

Harvey can choose from almost a full squad for Saturday's game, something he is amazed by.

"It's remarkable," he added. I'm touching a lot of wood and crossing a lot of fingers because we're virtually injury free.

"Graham Bell picked up an injury last week, John Brennan has a touch of a cold, but that's it, which is terrific considering this time of season."

Kick-off for the match is at 1430 GMT.
