FULL TIME - Sharks 3-39 Lions
That's our lot - decent performance in the end, with a few concerns about the breakdown and all those pens. Give me a few minutes and I'll crack out a blog so we can all dive in for a chin-wag.

80 mins: CONV Hook Sharks 3-39 Lions

80 mins: TRY Heaslip Sharks 3-37 Lions
Suicidal attacking from the Sharks on their own line, and they knock on - Heaslip takes a quick tap and batters over to smear icing all over the cake.

79 mins: Hook on for ROG.

78 mins: Ooof - Shane is tripped, and that's a yellow for Keegan Daniel. Sly.

77 mins: The Lions are getting pinged all over here - non-stop pens. Not sure I'd want Kaplan as my boss. Or dad.

74 mins: Uh-oh - yellow card for Vickery, who's just on for Adam Jones. Hard to see what happened there - I'll get back to you.

72 mins: Solid defence shift now from the Lions, and a turnover from David Wallace. But ROG flings a forward pass out wide - not done enough to challenge S Jones for that no.10 slot in the Test team, you'd think.

70 mins: Subs aplenty: Blair on for Phillips, Rees on for Mears.

68 mins: CON O'Gara Sharks 3-32 Lions

67 mins: TRY Byrne Sharks 3-30 Lions
Wonderful running again from Lee Byrne. BOD floats a pass out to the left and the full-back still has a lot to do - he hands off the first man, heads for the corner, checks back inside the cover and then rolls out of the last tackle to crash over. Player of the tour so far.

65 mins: That is not a good sight - Roberts is having his right shoulder strapped into a big black menacing sling on the sidelines. Start crossing fingers and toes.

63 mins: Simon Shaw on for O'Connell, Flutey for Roberts. BOD takes over as on-pitch skipper.

60 mins: CON O'Gara Sharks 3-25 Lions
Lovely extras curled in from the left-hand touchline.

59 mins: TRY Fitzgerald, Sharks 3-23 Lions
Super run from BOD, super try from the Lions. Heaslip accelerates, Croft takes it on and Byrne dinks a lovely pass to BOD - the centre runs a smashing line down the left, commits the full-back and pops Fitzgerald over in the corner.

58 mins: Great turnover ball from the Lions - put-in to the scrum just inside their own half.

55 mins: Sloppy from the Lions - Croft loses the lineout, and Shane then gets in front of Phillips. Messy business.

52 mins: PEN O'Gara, Sharks 3-18Lions
Naughty from Skipper Badenhorst - dirty deeds at the breakdown, and that's just cost his side three more points.

51 mins: Much better from the Lions now - quicker ball, and the runners are starting to punch holes. ROG tries his 100th kick through but the ball comes back off the uprights.

49 mins: Byrne is almost through, but he can't hang on to Phillips' torpedo.

48 mins: PEN O'Gara, Sharks 3-15 Lions
Another bullocking run from Dr Roberts, and the Sharks are shaking - pen in front of the posts. ROG takes a deep breath and does the business.

46 mins: What a kick that is from Byrne - 60-odd metres into the left hand corner of the Shark tank.

44 mins: Harsh on the skipper, that - he's penalised for going off his feet, but Kockott comes up short with the attempted slot from the pen.

41 mins: TRY Phillips Sharks 3-12 Lions
What a start to the second half, what a run from Phillips - after Heaslip smashes down the middle, the scrum-half dummies and goes through the gap cleaned out by the forwards. There's another shimmy in there, a dart for the corner and he's in - super score. ROG misses the extras left.

HALF-TIME - Sharks 3-7 Lions
Gethin's having a nightmare out there - he's being penalised time and time again for bringing the scrum down. Not sure it's his fault, to be fair, but Kaplan's all over him. That's the break, and the Lions won't quite be able to work out how they're not further ahead here...

38 mins: ROG kicks to the corner again - this time Shane and Byrne are all over it, but the ball bounces forwards from the first attempted catch before Byrne can get the ball down. Ouch - he takes a nasty head to the nose while he's down there too.

37 mins: Byrne is fed by Fitzgerald and batters his way to an inch from the line. Sharks bite back in numbers.

35 mins: Oh, ROG - another misplaced cross-kick, and that's easy for the Sharks.

33 mins: Big Lions pressure on the line after a great break from Mears again. Wallace goes, but the ball is too slow. Great defence from the Sharks too, and Terblanche kicks clear.

29 mins: PEN Kockott Sharks 3-7
Jenkins pinged for illegal scrummaging, and that's an easy slot.

27 mins: Stefan Terblanche booms a big kick to the corner. Locals liked that one.

25 mins: Conflab in the lions ranks, led by Skipper O'Connell. Lions line-out in their own 22.

23 mins: CONV O'Gara, Sharks 0-7 Lions

22 mins: TRY Lee Mears, Sharks 0-5 Lions
It was coming - Phillips darts, Heaslip takes it on and Mears, the Human Cannonball, blasts over from short range. Delight for the hooker, who's looked first class so far tonight.

21 mins: Swirling wind out there, so ROG kicks to the left-hand corner again.

18 mins: Smash - BOD intercepts on his own 22 and goes clear - he looks like he must score, but Luzuko Vulindlu puts on the afterburners and hauls the Irish centre down inches from the line. The Lions then knock on. Big, big let-off...

16 mins: Lord alive - Gethin Jenkins nearly cuts Riaan Swanepoel in two with an old-school cruncher. Jamie Roberts looks to be feeling his right shoulder too - some proper wincing from the big unit. This ain't table-tennis.

14 mins: Good pressure on the Sharks line again. AWJ has a rumble but is pinged again for failing to release. The Lions really should have points on the board for this.

11 mins: Heaslip takes a quick tap and smashes for the line - held up, rules Ref Kaplan, with admirable speed.

9 mins: Roberts bulldozes his way through two tackles before being hauled down. It's all Lions...

6 mins: Ooof - Fitzgerald is chopped down out wide. ROG then goes for a cross-field kick to the corner - it's going nowhere, but the last man has the patter of Lions paws in his ears and takes it into touch. Phillips is a touch slow at the breakdown and the Sharks clear again.

3 mins: Disappointing result - the Lions drive for the line, but the Sharks bite back and the tourists are penalised for holding on. Dumond kicks clear into touch from behind his own line.

2 mins: Hello - a slice of fisticuffs in the right hand corner. Pen to the Lions after a lovely tight drive, and ROG kicks to the corner. Big early pressure.

1 min: Early dance for Shane on the right. He steps inside one man, is scragged but the Sharks fail to roll away from the tackle and it's a pen to touch.

1810: Here come the two teams, trundling out with menace in every step. Jonathan Kaplan on the whistle - we're nearly off...

1800: Let's have a look at the crowd in the ABSA stadium. Hmm. Patchy - no more than a third full. Disappointing scenes.

1745: Big night this for the IRB player of the year. Shane's under pressure - lots of people tipping Tommy Bowe and Ugo Monye for the slots out wide. The Lions will also have to improve at the breakdown after Saturday's squeaker against the Cheetahs - too much isolation and ropey rucking four days ago, no?

1735: Evening all - how are we set ce soir? Should be a decent old ding-dong in Durban, you'd fancy - it's farewell altitude, hello possible Test slots out there tonight...
