Exeter bring in lock from Dragons

Exeter Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs have signed second row Sean Tomes from Welsh region Newport Gwent Dragons.

The 24-year-old spent three years with Newcastle Falcons before moving to Newport in January.

He will bring a huge physical presence to the Chiefs' pack as he stands 6ft 6ins tall and weighs in at 19st 3lbs.

"Sean is just the type of player we need to bring to the club and someone I look forward to working with," Exeter head coach Rob Baxter said.

He added: "Sean is one of those players who has had a sporadic exposure to a good level of rugby without quite becoming a regular starter and therefore not played as much rugby as he needs to fulfil his potential."
