Hooker Duffey to join Leicester

Joe Duffey
Duffey has not missed a game since 2005

Nottingham hooker Joe Duffey will join Guinness Premiership side Leicester Tigers from the start of next season.

Duffey has spent two spells at Nottingham, and has been ever present in the side since he returned in 2005.

"It is definitely an exciting challenge to be moving down to Leicester to hopefully play in the Premiership," he told the club's website.

"I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have learnt a lot from here and will always remember my time here."

He added: "I've been with Nottingham for five years and loved every minute of it.

I am delighted for Joe and I know he will be 100% committed to finishing the season in style

Glenn Delaney

"The boys are a brilliant team and great friends but I will definitely stay in touch with them not being too far away."

Nottingham director of rugby Glenn Delaney was full of praise for Duffey following the announcement.

"Joe has been one of the stand-out players in this team for a long time and Nottingham Rugby will wish him well at Leicester next season.

"There is still plenty to do in a Nottingham shirt this season but I am delighted for Joe and I know he will be 100% committed to finishing the season in style."
