Gloucester winger James Simpson-Daniel has been named the Guinness Premiership player of the season.

The winger beat Bath's Olly Barkley, who will join him at Gloucester next term, into second, with team-mate Akapusi Qera taking third.

Wasps' Danny Cipriani was named Discovery of the Season to go with his title as Professional Rugby Association young player of the year.

Sale's Ben Foden came second with Harlequins' Danny Care in third spot.

Gloucester's Dean Ryan won the prize for the best director of rugby, having kept his team top of the table for 21 of the 22 rounds and helping them finish as the league's second-highest try scorers.

Worcester's Kai Horstmann won the Try of the Season award for finishing off a length-of-the-pitch effort against Sale.

Leicester's Tom Varndell was named top try-scorer of the season for the second time in three years, with Sale's Charlie Hodgson winning the kickers' Golden Boot.
