Powerful Exeter unbreached again

Pete Drewett
Exeter Chiefs coach Pete Drewett managed to keep it tight again

Exeter had too much pace, power and strength for Esher winning 26-0 as they kept a third successive National One clean sheet on home soil at Sandy Park.

The Chiefs dominated the scrums and line-outs as they scored four tries to consolidate their hold on second place.

Exeter's tries came from prop Shane Kingsland, right-wing Josh Drauniniu, 20-year-old debutant number eight Toby Freeman and left-wing Sean Marsden.

Fly-half Tony Yapp's three conversions took him past 1500 points for the club.

After thumping wins in their previous two home games against Launceston (62-0) and Birmingham & Solihull (36-0), Exeter's defences have now remained unbreached at home since the 39-29 win over Cornish Pirates on 26 January.

And the 25-11 reverse back in November to the National League One champions, 100 % Northampton, who they must meet again at Twickenham in May, remains the EDF National Trophy finalists' only home defeat.
