Scotland have made two changes for the Calcutta Cup clash against England at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Simon Taylor returns in the back row, replacing Kelly Brown at number eight, while inside centre Graeme Morrison makes his first start in four years.
Andrew Henderson drops out of the 22, while Jason White, who missed the defeat in Dublin through injury, has to settle for a place on the bench.
Alasdair Strokosch stays at blind-side with Mike Blair remaining captain.
Props Alasdair Dickinson and Craig Smith, and scrum-half Rory Lawson also come onto the replacements' bench, with Gavin Kerr, Ross Rennie and Chris Cusiter also omitted from the 22.
Simon is playing well and is now ready to return to the national side
Scotland coach Frank Hadden
Lock Jim Hamilton and centre Nick De Luca were both ruled out through injury.
With three front-row replacements, White will cover the second row and there is no place in the squad for record cap holder Scott Murray.
Morrison, preferred to Glasgow team-mate Henderson at inside centre, will make his first start for Scotland since 2004.
Taylor, 28, who will earn his 59th cap, will make his first appearance since the World Cup quarter-final defeat by Argentina after recovering from a hand injury.
"Simon has played well in the three games for his club (Stade Francais) since recovering from a hand injury and he is now ready to return to the national side," said Hadden.
"Graeme Morrison is being rewarded for his outstanding performances for the Scotland A team, away in Italy and then against Ireland A at Perth."
Taylor said he was relishing the prospect of facing England, but he warned that the Scotland fans should not harbour unrealistic expectations.
"We've got two professional teams and we're competing against countries which have hundreds of professional players," he said.
"We've got 60 or 70. Of course we're a proud rugby nation but I think people sometimes get a little bit carried away."
