Jonny Wilkinson was in fine form in Newcastle's win at Brive
Bath all but secured a home European Challenge Cup quarter-final with a 31-13 win at Overmach Parma in Italy.

Emerging wing Matt Banahan grabbed two tries while fly-half Butch James and flanker Michael Lipman also crossed.

On Friday Jonny Wilkinson kicked 14 points as Newcastle went top of Pool Three with a 19-12 away win at Brive.

Chris Bell scored a hat-trick as Sale thrashed Italian side Petrarca 45-6, Worcester won 24-7 at Montauban while Leeds beat Dax 25-18 at Headingley.

A victory over Spanish side Cetransa El Salvador in their final pool game will seal Newcastle's place in the quarter-finals.

Wilkinson kicked four penalties and converted Toby Flood's 38th-minute try, the only one of the match, after his own chip ahead.

The Falcons were made to sweat in the last minute when the television match official denied Brive a possible score-equalling try.

Worcester guaranteed their last-eight place thanks to tries from Aleki Lutui, captain Pat Sanderson, winger Miles Benjamin and Matt Mullan.

Sale maintained their unbeaten record, demolishing Petrarca at Edgeley Park thanks to Bell's three tries and two late scores from Chris Mayor.

Julien Laharrague and Mark Cueto also touched down for the Sharks.

Leeds were made to work harder for their win and had fly-half Alberto di Bernardo to thank for kicking 20 points in their win over Dax.

The Italian kicked six penalties and converted Jon Hepworth's try to keep Leeds at the top of Pool Five.
