Mathew Tait - centre
Mathew Tait
Height: 1.83m (6ft)
Weight: 90kg (14st 2lb)
Age: 21 Caps: 18

The Newcastle centre came into the starting XV against Samoa following the tournament-ending injury to Falcons team-mate Jamie Noon, and he has stayed there ever since.

We have only seen glimpses of his searing pace so far although he did score a try against Tonga. Can play at full-back or wing if necessary.

Tait, the youngest England player to appear in a final, is studying for a biomedical science degree at Newcastle University.
