France v Georgia as it happened
France 64-7 Georgia

LATEST ACTION (all times BST)

By Charlie Henderson

1539: FULL-TIME France 64-7 Georgia
Will it be New Zealand in Cardiff on Saturday or Scotland at the Stade de France on Sunday? France have done their bit and now need to find a TV to watch Argentina v Ireland as that will determine whether they stay at home or leave their own World Cup party and head to Wales.

79 mins: TRY France 64-7 Georgia
France end the match with their ninth try. The ball is worked wide and number eight Julien Bonnaire skips through a couple of tackles on the left to score. Lionel Beauxis doesn't add the points which is a shame because he has had a wonderful game.

75 mins: Lionel Beauxis chips over the top but David Skrela cannot dab the ball down over the line. That damn oval thing squirms from his grasp with five points on the plate.

73 mins: SIN BIN Georgia The match has been played out in good spirit... until now. Remy Martin is spear tackled by Eloshvili and things get a bit testy before Revaz Gigauri is shown the yellow card. That's his World Cup over, even if he is the victim of mistaken identity.

71 mins: TRY France 59-7 Georgia
Georgia are on the scoreboard. Referee Alan Lewis urges them to take a quick tap from a five-metre penalty and it is astute tactical judgment from the Irishman as France are caught napping. Zviad Maisuradze dives over and Beski Khamashuridze adds the conversion.

69 mins: Clement Poitrenaud runs a kick back at Georgia. The ball is worked through five pairs of hands but the fifth set, which belong to hooker Dimitri Szarzewski, are not as good as the quartet that went before and he gifts the ball to Georgia.

65 mins: TRY France 59-0 Georgia
Champagne rugby from France. Substitute Remy Martin pops through a tackle to score after a turnover on the 22 and some quick, efficient passing. Lionel Beauxis hooks his effort off the tee across the face of the posts.

62 mins: TRY & CONVERSION France 54-0 Georgia
Lionel Nallet drives over with a helping hand from his behemoth buddies in the pack. The forwards have been threatening to do that all game and that is a deserved reward for their efforts. Lionel Beauxis clips over his easiest kick of the day from under the posts.

61 mins: A cynical Georgian knock down as France attack draws pantomime jeers from the crowd and a lecture from referee Alan Lewis... but no card. "I'm giving you every chance and in the context of the match I'm trying to help you, but you must play within the laws of the game," says the Irish man in the middle.

60 mins: A quarter of the match still to go and France can rack up a big score here. An attacking lineout is a good place to start if you want points, and that's what they have got.

56 mins: TRY France 47-0 Georgia
A scrappy patch of play ends with another try. Running out of options Jean-Baptiste Eilissalde dinks a chip over the Georgian defence off the outside of his boot which Christophe Dominici races on to. A touch of a tackle knocks his progress but doesn't knock him off course and he stumbles over the line to touch down. Lionel Beauxis cannot add the conversion.

54 mins: Georgia have strung together some good little spells of play but can't make any ground. Nine phases there, but nothing to show for it.

51 mins: TRY & CONVERSION France 42-0 Georgia
Yannick Nyanga scored off the back of a drive from a lineout in the first half and this time Sale's Sebastien Bruno gets in on the act. An absolutely staggering kick tight to the touchline from Lionel Beauxis... just don't kiss him.

49 mins: The game's being played to the tootling soundtrack of a trumpet which help gives the action a sprightly feel. All very nice as France look for more points.

45 mins: So with a five-point win in the bag now, France can end the day top of the pool as long as Argentina don't get anything against Ireland.

44 mins: TRY France 35-0 Georgia
There's the French fluidity and that bonus-point try. Christophe Dominici catches a Lionel Beauxis cross kick this time, steps inside a covering defender on the right wing and dives over. He gives Beauxis a kiss on the ear as they embrace and that's put the stand-off right off his game. He misses his first kick of the day.

42 mins An a cappella version of La Marseillaise rings round the Stade Velodrome as France look to hit that rhythm they found towards the end of the first 40.

1453: The action resumes.

"Georgia's qualification for the quarter-finals is looking somewhat difficult. Their campaign has been a great justification for having little sides in the World Cup: they were so close to toppling Ireland.

1441: HALF-TIME France 30-0 Georgia
One-way traffic.

37 mins: TRY & CONVERSION France 30-0 Georgia
It is carnival time at the Stade Velodrome with France crossing for a third try. A lovely floated midfield pass from Aurelien Rougerie as the backs go left to right, Christophe Dominici draws the defence and his quick hands set up a four-man overlap. Who's going to score? Lionel Beauxis as he cuts in from the right to take an inside scissors pass from Clement Poitrenaud. Beauxis is having a blinder and adds two more points to take his personal tally to 20.

35 mins: France sweep forward and Lionel Beauxis loops a kick over the top to the corner. The ball skips off the turf and Christophe Dominici cannot gather.

33 mins: The game's in the bag and now it's all about operation bonus point for France. Get that and they may avoid a quarter-final against New Zealand.

30 mins: It's going from bad to worse for Georgia. Skipper Irakli Abuseridze is stretchered off to be replaced by Giorgi Elizbarashvili. The scum-half was injured in the build-up to France's try. And it all looked so good a few minutes ago when he scragged Jean-Baptiste Elissalde.

29 mins: TRY & CONVERSION France 23-0 Georgia
It has all gone to pot for Georgia. A man light in the forwards and from a lineout catch and drive from five metres they are given the treatment before Yannick Nyangaa peels off blind and touches down. Another two points for the prodigious Lionel Beauxis boot.

28 mins: SIN BIN Georgia
Mamuka Magrakvelidze will have a 10-minute rest after a trip.

27 mins: Turnover ball for Georgia off the back of a France scrum as Jean-Baptiste Elissalde is snaffled at the base by Irakli Abuseridze. Things are going a little off beam for France at the moment.

24 mins: PENALTY France 16-0 GeorgiaLionel Beauxis has a thumping right boot. The crowd aren't too happy when France plump for the pop at goal, but his boomer of a kick from halfway and the three points it earns are greeted with delight.

23 mins: But for that terrible start Georgia would be well in this on the scoreboard. They are getting to grips with the game, the atmosphere and most importantly the French.

21 mins: France scrum-half Pierre Mignoni darts down the blindside on the right flank but while chasing his own kick ahead he pulls up. His hammy has gone and so is he. Jean-Baptiste Elissalde comes on.

19 mins: Georgia win a penalty and take a quick tap. When they are awarded a second penalty Merab Kvirikashvili goes for goal but pushes it just wide.

17 mins: PENALTY France 13-0 Georgia
More points for Lionel Beauxis after that Georgian indiscretion.

16 mins: The Stade Velodrome crowd love it as the forwards get a charge on. Their rumbling effort has the Georgians back-pedalling at speed before they drag down the maul.

14 mins: Normally it is Serge Betsen who dishes out the hits, but he's on the receiving end from opposite number six Ilia Maisuradze in midfield.

11 mins: Georgia cough up the ball and here come France from deep. David Marty runs out of space on the left touchline and is thumped into touch.

10 mins: Better from Georgia who get hold of the ball for a bit.

"Georgia still can qualify! Just beat France with a bonus point, deny them any and hope Ireland go down empty-handed against Pumas and then - the mother of all upsets."
LatvianAllBlacksFan on 606

6 mins: This is all a bit of a doddle for France and you get the feeling Georgia could have run out of gas at this tournament after some heroic performances and a midweek win over Namibia.

4 mins: TRY & CONVERSION France 10-0 Georgia
Yannick Jauzion glides away from the despairing clutches of a tackler on halfway, is behind opposition ranks and passes to Clement Poitrenaud for an easy run in. Lionel Beauxis adds the conversion.

2 mins: PENALTY France 3-0 Georgia
Points on the board early for France and Lionel Beauxis nonchalantly clips the ball over for the opening points of the final day of the tournament's pool stages.

1 min: ...and are immediately on the back foot.

1400: Georgia get us going...

1358: The Georgian anthem is received well before a lung-busting rendition of La Marseillaise. The ground's a heaving mass of passion.

1355: And here come those players. Georgia in white and France in blue. A raucous reception for Les Bleus from fervent fans, including Nicolas Sarkozy. He has come down to the coast from his Parisian presidential residence.

1352: A last look at the teams on paper before a first look at the teams in person.

France: Poitrenaud, Rougerie, Marty, Jauzion, Dominici, Beauxis, Mignoni, Milloud, Bruno, Poux, Nallet, Thion, Betsen, Nyanga, Bonnaire.
Replacements: Szarzewski, Mas, Pelous, Martin, Elissalde, Skrela, Clerc.
Georgia: Barkalaia, Urjukashvili, Gigauri, I. Guiorgadze, Khamashuridze, Kvirikashvili, Abusseridze, Magrakvelidze, A. Guiorgadze, Zirakashvili, Didebulidze, Mtchedlishvili, I. Maisuradze, Urushadze, Chkhaidze.

1350:Can Georgia upset le cart du pommes? Get involved on 606 or feel free to drop us a line via text on 81111. The first two posts on 606 both mention the words "comfortable" and "win" for the French.

1347: Dreamy weather in Marseille. A few light fluffy clouds dot an azure sky and it's a bit breezy. Perfect for running rugby and with a full-house behind them the French can run amok.

1345: It's D-day at the Rugby World Cup. D for Pool D, the fabled 'Pool of Death'. Three teams are playing for two quarter-final places and first up are hosts France, who should have the beating of Georgia to secure one of them, before Argentina and Ireland meet.
