Wasps pair Hugo Ellis and Joe Simpson supplied the tries as England opened their Under-19 World Cup campaign with a hard-earned win over Samoa.
Captain Ellis' sixth try of the season was England's first touchdown of the night after Titi Jr Esau had kicked Samoa into an early 9-3 lead.
England lost momentum after the break but Simpson calmed their nerves when he charged through two tackles to score.
A brace of conversions and penalties by Andy Goode completed England's scoring.
