France may be without number eight Elvis Vermeulen for the start of their Six Nations campaign.
Vermeulen, who started in all there November internationals, is out for two to three weeks with an arm injury.
France, who start against Italy on 3 February, will also be without young centre Romain Cabannes after he fractured his sinus at the weekend.
The uncapped 22-year-old may require an operation and is expected to be out for between four and eight weeks.
