EDF Energy, one of the UK's largest distributors of electricty and gas, have replaced Powergen as title sponsors of the Anglo-Welsh Cup.
Wasps will be defending the trophy
Under the terms of the three-year deal, the cross-border competition will now be called the EDF Energy Cup.
The tournament is contested by the 12 English Premiership clubs and the four Welsh regions.
Wasps were the inaugural winners last season, with the competition starting again on 29 September.
There are four groups each featuring one Welsh region and three English clubs.
The BBC is televising at least three matches from the group stages live on network, plus both semis and the final, with further group matches being shown live on BBC Wales and S4C.
The winner of each group qualifies for the semi-finals on 24 March 2007, with the final at Twickenham on 15 April.
EDF will also be the title sponsor for the Rugby Football Union's National Trophy, Intermediate Cup, Junior Vase and the new Senior Vase.
Paul Vaughan, RFU business operations director, said: "We are delighted to have secured such a major commercial name as EDF Energy to be the sponsor for five competitions covering Premier to grassroots rugby."
