Wilkinson and O'Driscoll are in opposition again
The International Rugby Board (IRB) has named Lions Jonny Wilkinson, Keith Wood and Brian O'Driscoll among five nominees for their International Player of the Year award.

Australians George Gregan and George Smith complete the nominations, announced by the IRB on Thursday.

England fly-half Wilkinson and Ireland internationals Wood and O'Driscoll were part of their respective countries' strong starts to this year's Six Nations tournament.

They also played on the Lions' tour of Australia, in which Gregan and Smith starred as the home side took the series 2-1.

Gregan has since been named captain of Australia following the retirement of John Eales.

The winner will be announced on November 11 at an awards ceremony in London.

A panel of former international players led by former Wales and Lions wing Gerald Davies will also decide on the Team of the Year and Coach of the Year.
