Tindall fires salvo at critics
Matt Tindall in action against London Irish
Tindall gives Stuart Barnes something to think about
England rugby international Mike Tindall believes he silenced his critics after ending Saracen's hopes of capturing the Zurich Premierhsip title on Saturday.

The Bath centre scored two tries in the opening 13 minutes in his side's 33-11 victory at Vicarage Road.

The England international declared himself fit despite struggling with a elbow injury from Bath's Boxing Day defeat against Leicester.

But the incentive to make his critics eat their words provided inspiration for an excellent performance.

I was determined to play against Saracens because I want to prove these people wrong
  Mike Tindall

In particular, Tindall feels he has had a rough ride from player-turned-commentator Stuart Barnes.

"It's nothing personal against Stuart Barnes, but he has never, ever said a good word about me," claimed Tindall.

"The criticism has been building up.

"You try to let it go and use it in the right way, yet I was determined to play against Saracens because I want to prove these people wrong.

"I was still struggling with the injury on Friday, but I thought you can live with pain.

Title hopes alive

"That was one of the games I most wanted to play in."

Bath produced a superb performance to take a maximum five points.

"We've started to play how we want to play, getting the ball wide, and things have started to open up for us," he added.

"In terms of the title, we will never give up the ghost.

"If Leicester lose a game, and we pick up a few five-pointers, then who knows?"
