Briers attributes Wolves' recent good form to coach Tony Smith

Warrington stand-off Lee Briers says he hopes he can end his career at the Halliwell Jones Stadium after signing a new contract with the club last week. Briers' new deal runs until the end of 2010 but he hopes he can stay longer. He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "If it's not this contract, the next contract will see me finish at Warrington. "I never wanted to leave Warrington, even though it did cross my mind and there were other clubs interested. But I've made the right decision." Briers, 31, also says the impact England and former Leeds coach Tony Smith has had on the club since he took over at the beginning of the season has been crucial to how they have performed. "He's thorough in what he does - he's awesome as a coach," continued the former Wales international. "His man management skills are unbelievable and he challenges you hour by hour, day by day and week by week. "If you're not up to that challenge you don't play on a Sunday and that's the be all and end all - and that's what's bringing us out."
