St Helens academy player Daniel Langtree has been banned for two years after testing positive for cocaine.
Langtree has also been released by the Super League club as a result of the suspension enforced by the Rugby Football League.
Saints chief executive Tony Colquitt has welcomed the ruling.
"We support the decision and hope it is a warning to players that taking drugs will result in them potentially losing their careers," he said.
