Edmondson salvo sees off Widnes
Mark Edmondson
Edmondson scored two of his tries in the first half
A Mark Edmondson hat-trick lifted St Helens to a 22-16 victory over Super League rivals Widnes on Thursday.

Paul Sculthorpe also went over as Saints saw off the Vikings despite being without several key players.

Sala Fa'alogo, Aaron Moule and Steve Rowlands touched down for the home side, who were unable to field New Zealand trialist Karl Guttenbeil.

St Helens continue their pre-season build-up by flying out to Portugal on Sunday for a week-long training camp.
