Widnes trio make move to Salford
Salford City Reds have signed three players from relegated Super League club Widnes Vikings.

Goalkicking stand-off Stephen Myler, 21, has signed a 12-month deal, while loose forward Simon Finnigan, 23, penned a three-year contract.

Australian centre Aaron Moule, 27, who attracted interested from rugby union clubs, has signed a two-year deal.

"There's a lot of experience there but they are all still quite young," said Salford football director Steve Simms.

All three became available on free transfers after Widnes' relegation from Super League was confirmed earlier this week.

Simms added: "They have played a lot of Super League and they fit into our plans.

"Stephen Myler had a few offers but he feels he has something to offer rugby league still.

"That's his sport. He wants a new start with a progressive club and he feels we can offer him that."

Salford have already signed John Wilshere from Leigh and secured first option on Leeds' utility player Andrew Dunemann if he decides to prolong his Super League career.

The Reds have parted company with Cliff Beverley, Mark Shipway, Nathan McAvoy, Simon Baldwin, Andy Johnson, Stuart Dickens, Neil Baynes and Andy Smith.
