Champions Leeds Rhinos have revealed prop forward Ryan Bailey could miss the start of Super League XIV.

The 25-year-old is still recovering from an arthroscopy on his knee and did not travel to Florida for the club's training camp on Monday.

New Zealand international full-back Brent Webb has also stayed in the UK after a back operation.

Ben Jones-Bishop and Simon Worrall have also missed the trip as they both recover from shoulder surgery.

Rhinos head physiotherapist Meirion Jones told the club's website: "In the case of Ryan Bailey, with the season fast approaching, it was felt the days lost in travel and playing a game in America it would be better spent getting him right for the start of the season.

The set-up at the University of North Florida is excellent and we were made to feel very welcome on our visit there last year

Leeds head coach Brian McClennan
"Brent, Ben and Simon are all unable to contribute fully in training at this stage and will be better served by staying behind and receiving more treatment."

Youngsters Jodie Broughton, 21, and Dane Manning, 19 have been included in the squad along with and new signings Danny Buderus and Luke Ambler.

The Rhinos are also hopeful that New Zealand World Cup winner Greg Eastwood will be able to join up with the team in Jacksonville once his paperwork is completed.

Head coach Brian McClennan said: "We are delighted to be going back to Jacksonville and to Florida.

"The set-up at the University of North Florida is excellent and we were made to feel very welcome on our visit there last year.

"The players know the city now and it is a great chance for us to get out on the field without the freezing cold conditions we have experienced recently."
