Rovers planning stadium extension

Paul Lakin
Lakin plans to keep the club moving forward since promotion in 2006

Hull KR have announced plans to extend the capacity of their Craven Park ground to 14,000 by 2010

Rovers have submitted plans for a Super League franchise to secure their long-term top flight future.

Chief Executive Paul Lakin told BBC Look North: "We had a three-year plan and we've delivered.

"We have a further three-year plan with phased ground development." KR will now look to submit their plans to the planning authorities.

Rovers have been looking at other ways of moving forward as a club and Lakin was keen to stress the improvements made to their community development.

He said: "We've always been proud of our community development work and that's improved extensively over the past three years.

"We've now visited 43 schools and seen 25,000 children in the last year."

Rovers have also started to bring a number of young players into the first team from their youth ranks. Kirk Netherton, Chas I'Anson and Kris Welham have all played for the first team this season.
