Peter Gentle Gentle still unsure on skipper choice

Hull FC fans will have to wait until late January to find out who will be the captain for the 2012 season.

New head coach Peter Gentle told BBC Radio Humberside there are plenty of candidates from which to choose.

"I did have it narrowed down to about two or three - that's probably blown out to about five or six now," he said.

"However, whoever I make captain, Brett Seymour will be talking all over them on the field which is what you want from your half-back."

He continued: "Danny Tickle, Mark O'Meley, Andy Lynch, Richard Horne, Seymour and Wade McKinnon are all very vocal talkers and I've probably left a couple out as well and they could all lead and do the job justice."

Gentle is looking for a successor to Australian international Craig Fitzgibbon who hung up his boots at the end of last season after two years at the KC Stadium as skipper under former coach Richard Agar.

He added, "We'll narrow that (number) down over the Tenerife (pre-season training) trip, the game against Hull KR and the Lee Radford game against Bradford and we'll make a decision then."
