Crusaders coach Brian Noble has made Michael Witt his second recruit to the Wales-based Super League club.

The Australian goal-kicking half-back will return to rugby league after a nine-month stint in rugby union with New Zealand side Otago.

Witt, who has played for New Zealand Warriors, Manly and Parramatta, follows Hull hooker Tommy Lee to Crusaders.

The Crusaders are expected to move from Bridgend to Wrexham for next season and that is set to be confirmed soon.

Witt, who turns 26 on New Year's Day, switched codes in March, but made just seven appearances for Otago in the Air New Zealand Cup, six of them as a substitute.

He is currently awaiting a work permit and is not expected to link up with his new team-mates until after Christmas.

The Crusaders, who as a development club are allowed to exceed the normal overseas quota, are also thought to have agreed a deal to sign Canterbury Bulldogs' former New Zealand Test winger Matt Utai.

Wakefield centre Tony Martin and Gateshead Thunder full-back Nick Youngquest have also been linked with a move to Crusaders.
