Castleford Tigers have signed St Helens front-row forwards Nick Fozzard and Jake Emmitt.

Fozzard, 33, who has also played for Leeds, Huddersfield, Warrington and Hull KR, has signed a one-year deal.

Emmitt, who has signed a two-year deal to tie him to The Jungle until 2012, played eight Super League matches for Saints this season, scoring one try.

The 21-year-old had been dual-registered both with Saints and Championship side Leigh Centurions.

Tigers boss Terry Matterson said: "Fozzie has had a long and illustrious career in the game and his experience will be vital for our young guys.

"His form for Saints over the last seven or eight weeks has been outstanding and he was a much sought after player by other clubs."

Fozzard, who has played for Great Britain, added: "I'm really looking forward to joining the Tigers.

"I have a number of friends there. As a local lad, I know the club well and the rivalries as I also played in one or two of their derbies when I was at Leeds."
