Castleford Tigers have re-signed stand-off Danny Orr for next season.

The 32-year-old returns to the Jungle on a one-year-deal after spending the last four seasons at Harlequins.

Tigers coach Terry Matterson said: "I'm very pleased to have signed Danny. He brings a lot of experience and he's a very smart player.

"We felt that it was important to bring someone in who could help move the team around and he will both complement and take some pressure off Rangi [Chase]."

He added: "Danny knows the environment and his being a local boy adds to his appeal.

"He is also keen to do some coaching of our younger players so he will be involved in that along with a number of our senior players who currently work with the kids."

Orr, who has made 91 appearances for Harlequins, made his Tigers senior debut in 1997 and played 191 games for the club before moving to Wigan.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "As soon as I heard they were interested then the deal was done for me.

"It's my home-town club and one that I'm really proud to play for.

"Cas is my team. It always has been and I'm proud of that. If it happens to be me my last contract then it'll be a nice way to finish my career.

"I'm 32 now but I'm fit and healthy. I've got no injuries, so if I'm playing well then I'd probably like to go round again, but we'll get the year out of the way and take it from there."

Orr scored 71 tries, 297 goals and 4 drop goals to amass 882 points in his previous spell with Castleford.

He has represented Yorkshire, England and Great Britain and was a member of the 2002 Super League Dream Team.
