Chev Walker pens new Bradford contract

Walker returned to action after four months out with a broken foot.

Bradford Bulls centre Chev Walker has committed his future to the club for the next 12 months.

Walker, who signed from Hull KR last season, featured in Sunday's game against Crusaders after nearly four months out with a broken foot.

"I've counted every day that I've been out and am absolutely delighted to have signed again," the 28-year-old said.

"I've loved the place since I arrived and felt welcome from day one, so I'm thrilled to be here again next season."

Walker has missed a substantial part of the Bulls disappointing season after breaking his foot in the Challenge Cup tie against Halifax in May, but returned to first-team action in the 48-24 victory at home to Crusaders on Sunday.

"Missing so much of my first year at the club has been really frustrating but the fans and the club have eased the pain of not being able to play," Walker added.

Bulls coach Mick Potter said: "Chev brings so much professionalism to the club.

"He has a fantastic work ethic and is very versatile. He can play back row, centre, I could even throw him on the wing if we were really struggling with injuries.

"He's got the ability to put big hits in and to break the line, he's solid in defence, and that's what you want from your edge players."
